The symbol is a thermistor.
J5 & J6 on the output section of the schematic.

So I'm in a pickle trying to invert this board to desolder TR 201 and that cracked green (poly film?) capacitor

These two sets of wires are attached to the chassis

The bundle on the left looks doable since it had a nut and bolt 🔩

But the bundle on the right was adhered with silicon ? and it started to come loose and I'm wondering what this is  :grr  :loco

But wait there is a clue

I need to find out what this symbol indicates

Hello Tom,
The LR Baggs comment is clear to me.
the unit can use 3 power sources;
1/ Phantom power from Mixer
2/ power from the internal Battery
3/ power from the Wall Wart
The picture shown in first post may well have an internal battery which might be flat.
Maybe just open it up and check.
Phil.

Quote from: flester on November 02, 2025, 02:36:13 PMIf I wanted to simplify it by excluding the gain and tone pots? I want to make a tiny version with  3" speaker

If you wanted to exclude the gain and tone pots you could populate the potentiometer holes on the PCB with resistors to "set" a value.

I think speakers use an odd ball size, something like this:

Ratcheting crimping pliers are very good to have since they apply the same force every time, I have had my set for 47 years now and they still perform flawlessly. They are so cheap these days they are almost a must have.
I have a red set, a blue set and a yellow set and also a pair of un-insulated ones that do from 0.5mm to 6mm wire, mine cost about $70 to $ 110 each 47 years ago.

Yes, those smaller 3/16 spade connectors can be tight.
I bought a fairly cheap ratcheting style crimp tool and it really paid off quick, works amazing.

Quote from: edvard on November 03, 2025, 03:07:24 AMI can't imagine any electric guitarist saying "Hmmm... perhaps I should plug into the 'Lo' input, as I wouldn't want to overload the front end of this fine amplifier".
Seriously?  Even if they're using active pickups and the jacks are labelled 'passive/active' instead of 'hi/lo'?  That person would have issues that can not be solved through electronics.  ;)

Here is an example arrangement.  You can see that the only difference between the passive and active sides of the buffer is the single resistor change after it, R105 vs R106.

Oh well mission accomplished  :tu:

Now I can plug and play

Spade connectors for speaker terminals

No more trying to make loops in the wire and wrap it around and try to screw it in without it coming off etc  :grr

You cannot view this attachment.

And now I can input signal via RCA when needed because I got some BCA ? to RCA adapters

No more clipping probes to this and that

Then of course gtg on connecting speakers instead of hey let's wrap this around etc
