That’s pretty cool, and only $13. Looks to be another switching charge multiplier. That site has a bunch of kits that look to range from beginner-type too so you might start there? I’m in solid-state mode these days, so only looking at that stuff right now.

Shipping cost will double the price but might still be worthwhile if I buy other stuff from them. They do have tube amp kits from €150 or so. Still nervous about the high voltage stuff but I feel like I will have to scratch the tube itch some time.

Well I built a Valvecaster running on 12 v with a 12AU7.  Did I enjoy building it? Yes. Do I like how it looks and sounds? Yes. Did I make the tube  unnecessarily visible to look cool? Yes. Was it worth the trouble? Yes for me. Will I build more? Probably
