Help Building a battery powered amp

Hey, I'd like to build my own battery powered practice amp, so I was reading about "The little gem" as I walk down the street. Right when I think about where am I going to get a speaker I found 3 boxes lying on the ground that just so happened to be speakers. [Links to pics at bottom]

I'm really new to DIY electrical projects and I would love any advice or suggestions on what I could do with these. I really wanted to make a portable battery powered amp and I really like the look of the brown box speakers.

Does anyone know if these speakers are of any quality/Are they worth turning into practice amps? If not i'll probably just stick a smaller speaker in the brown enclosure and use that.

There are 2 Cantons in brown boxes and a JBL in a long black box.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

Good on you for having a go,,
Sorry to say they are Hifi speakers and don't work well for guitar amplification.
Some small car speakers which are *Full Range* can work ok for guitar but not those low efficiency woofers which have little energy at guitar frequencies.
Maybe the best part will be the box :tu:,,, ideal for a small amp you just need the right speaker.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and tried it anyway to practice on a junk speaker and it works! It doesn't sound the best at all and gets farty on the low notes, but I'm not disappointed; it is louder than I thought it'd be. I found schematics for a "smokey" amp and I think that will fit my purposes better.
