I also tried an Orange Crush 20R the other day. It had a clean channel that was surprisingly awesome.

Quilter, any Quilter.
No affiliation,  I just love my 101 Mini.
Checks all your boxes, and it only weighs a few pounds. Fits easily in a knapsack or gig bag.

Amplifier Discussion / Re: Thinking about building a SS amp
« on: June 10, 2018, 06:11:26 PM »
Try reading Randy Sloane as well - High Power Audio Amplifier Construction is a good one for discrete components, and his thoughts on FETs are at least worth considering.  For chip amps, Texas Instruments has published application notes for its ICs, including for power amps . Will see if I dig up a link.

From Marshall website:
SPEAKERS
Speaker configuration
1x12"
Speaker model
Custom (4Ω, 50w)
Unit impedance

Thanks!

Anyone know what type of speaker is in the code 50, and how many ohms it is?

oops.
This guy has it, you can contact him and see if he'll share.  :)

Otherwise, musicparts has it for $20.
Thanks again g1!

The service manual only gives acoustic part numbers in the parts list, but you can probably find out elsewhere what the generic subs are.

Thanks g1!  But that's the tube version... I'm looking for the SS version...  thanks anyways !

Schematics and Layouts / Acoustic G60 112
« on: February 11, 2018, 03:49:47 PM »
Hello all
I came across these schematics for a 1980s vintage Acoustic Control Corp G60-112 guitar amp. Only the resistors and caps are identified. Does anyone have the sheet identifying the ICs, transistors and diodes ?

I owned one of these once, it was a great little amp. Be nice to resurrect the circuit.

Thanks!

So are these chips only available from China now? Can't seem to track down a North American supplier. Any thoughts?

Agree fully.

One of the very many reasons he is a mod here  ;)
Ancient thread, but I second that thought. I'm about 100 pages in, Teemu's book is terrific.

50k versus 47k?  Absolutely nothing different.

50k versus 47 ohms?  All the difference in the world.
Lol clearly. Thanks!
Any ideas on how to get a single tone pot into this circuit?

You can't reduce gain very much, I guess minimum is around 20X , because it becomes unstable.
So reduce R2/R1 ratio to about 20:1 but not less, any ectra reduction myst be input padding."Which is not all bad, you can add a passive tone conrol which will be lossy anyway.
OK here is plan B. I've been playing around with the Lm386 opamp and decided it might suit my little enclosure better than the TDA2003. I thought id use 2 of the TDA2003 modules with each one driving a 4" car  speaker in some sort of cabinet. Maybe shaped like the Roland Street Cube https://m.thomann.de/ie/roland_cube_street_bk.htm

I'm making my first foray into DIY solid state amps with this kit. Can anyone tell me what happens if I use a 50k log pot instead of a 47 ?
