I found out that the Fender Stage Lead II amp(Japan) and the Sunn Stinger 100(Taiwan) are the same amp..guess Fender just Re-Branded the same amp for Sunn & Fender during that time frame. I could not find any reviews on the Sunn Stinger 100 Amp, but I did find reviews on the Fender Stage Lead II, which are all positive. I guess that Sunn at that time did not have a very big fan base.

Thanks to everyone for all the info..good food for thought. Respects. PoorOtis.

Amplifier Discussion / Info on Sunn Stinger 100 amp
July 01, 2018, 02:22:54 PM
I have always wanted a SUNN amp, and my grandson knew that and picked up a Sunn Stinger 100 Amp for me last week from parts unknown! I have been on the Net trying to get information about this model Sunn amp, but the only thing I could find was a download of the owners manual from Fender/Sunn. Has anyone worked on or owned one of these amps? Heck..I can't even find out what year it was made..must be asking the wrong people!
I have found info on Stinger 20/35/60s..but little to nothing on the Stinger 100! Its very heavy for its size and very Loud! I have never see this model of Sunn Amp..But I'm happy to have it! Any info on the Sunn Stinger 100 amp will be helpful. Respects. PoorOtis.

I have a older Peavey Studio Plus 110/65watt..I think it does a good job..for what it is! My grandson is using the amp until he decides what he wants in a new amp. The other guys in his garage band want to "Mod" my amp by installing a larger 12 in speaker in it...something about "Fullness"...or what ever?? Being a 65 watt amp, it has enough power to push a larger speaker..but my question is would it be worth it to install a larger speaker or leave the old amp as is...???? Can a new speaker in a larger size make that much difference in the amps abilities or over-all tone??  Thanks.

Have a older Kustom KLA80/80watt/SS amp with a blown no name speaker in it. Not sure if its original or not,
but its shot and I need to replace it with another 12' speaker. I mainly play classic rock & blues, so..I thought the Eminerce Red White&Blues would be a good choice! Has anyone had experience with this speaker..and will it fit the sytle that I do?? Thanks.

Found a Schematic for a Kustom KLA80B..not sure if its the same or not! The date in the Schematic is July 1st 1997..so ....not sure if its the right one!

Amplifier Discussion / Re: Randall RD50C for Blues..?
January 16, 2015, 01:13:35 PM
Thanks Fahey & g1 for the input. I was trying to stay away from the big 3..Fen..Mar..Vox..to find a different type tone to fit me..this Randall is a little different..but it does have a good, strong voice. With a little dial in,
it should work just fine! Respects. PoorOtis.

Thanks to..Dr Gonz78 for the link on Manuals & Schematics..I have them..

Thanks to..Roly for the information that you have and for the Wayback Machine link.

I do not understand why DM would not want to share info on their products with the people who use them?
I called DM..and got nothing..had to leave several messages..never received any return calls..did receive a
email from them saying..they only keep records for 10 years, and gave me their link to their manuals.

Thank You Both for Your Time...
Guess I'm stuck with the info that I have on my old dmc-80
My Respects.

Amplifier Discussion / Amp Website Missing..???

Dean Markley Vintage Amplifier Website...Where did it go??
There is little to no really useful information..IE..Design/Theory/Modifications..
Information is Very Scarce on both Tube and Solid State models up to 1996.
From 1996-2010 no new models were produced..they started up again in 2011 with Ultrasound Amps.

I'm almost positive I saw the Vintage Website some time back..but now..NOTHING..!

Where does someone go for info on their vintage amps?

Thanks G1 and Joe Cool for the info! It looks like I have to play with the Drive Voicing Module
to get it dialed into my type of music. It has a 1/4 plug for a footswitch..but..I can't seem
to find out if DM made a footswitch to go along with their amps? Kinda Strange!
Thank You Both..

Amplifier Discussion / Dean Markley DMC80 Questions
February 10, 2014, 10:36:29 AM
I picked up a vintage dmc80 2x10 ss amp..I like the cleans the amp produces.
I have 2 questions..hope someone can help me out(since I know nothing about the amp)

Is the amp a Stereo Guitar amp..??
On the rear of the amp their is a "Drive Voicing Module" eight button switch. It says its designed to
change the voicing of this amp to suit the players taste. Is this true? Does it really work, or was
it just something to boost sales of the product?

Thanks.

Found a amp that I'm interested in..but can't find any reviews from real owners of this brand of amp! its made in the UK,designed by Steve Grindrod..ex Marshall/Vox amp guru..so I figure it should be a good one..but I need some hands on opinions from owners,or players that have used this amp..its either PLAY or PASS!
Albion AG80R Solid State Guitar Amp.
