I agree with tony. You may like something that never stood out before. I understand if you can't get to a music store though I live 70 miles from town, but in Alaska thats not as far as in the lower 48. everything is far away up here. anyway just try out some stuff I also like the old marshall Valvestate. great amp. Good luck

you know I keep hearing mixed reviews on the MG series from Marshall. I never tried one but theres a good amount of vids on youtube for amps and stuff. Personally I'd get an old laney or maybe even a Fender princeton 112. Just put a boss ds-1 on either and you got something there. just my opinion and I'm sure someone will say that my choices are wrong but thats my thoughts. Hell I even like Peavey amps if you get the right one they last for decades. Never crate unless your going tube in that case the palomino V16 is amazing.

yeah I can't really tell by the schematic I have for it where and what all I changed. Thanks though I am just going to take it in and bite bullet. I will just mess it up more I'm sure. Does anybody out there have another one of these they don't want. I use mine for jazz with a gretsch new yorker hollowbody and an ampeg 15. Better eq in my opinion than the roland JC 75.

anyway thanks and I love this forum, alot of info I have been looking for

Amplifier Discussion / lab series L2 head problem

I am having trouble with this beauty. I turn it on and no lights, sound, or action. I have a load on and when I first turn it on I hear a thump and then nothing. It had a burnt resistor I changed but I don't know if it is still the problem. I changed a transistor that was going bad. Any help is very needed. I am extremely dedicated to this amp and will take it to an expensive tech if needed.
