Put it this way, 1500uF is what is used for a stereo LM1875 (2x25watts).

This is for a single LM3886 yes?  If so, you'll be fine.  You could go as low as 1500uF or so without major problems.  The 10,000uF caps are overkill, Brian just used them on that PS so that you could use one PS board for multiple chips, as much as two LM4780 (the equivelant of 4 LM3886 chips).

Well, the good news is yes, they came in.  The bad news is that they are all gone  :(

Paul has been so kind as to do an easy layout for it too:

This would be PERFECT for any chipamp guitar amp.

If I remember right, the gain on the LM3886 kits is 22.  I think I had figured it out to 0.6volts RMS needed on the input.

You mean no transformer and heatsink?  The transformer you can get a good deal on at partsexpress.com, as far as the heatsink, eBay is the way to go.

Here is an excellent one:

Yeah, I think I might try it later this summer.  No time/money right now.

I'm thinking

Guitar -> BMP tone control/gain stage -> Sparkle Drive as a preamp -> LM3886 -> Speaker

It would be pretty killer and should accept pedals in front of it pretty well I would think.

Yeah, I was a little worried about how clean it would be.  But on that same note, I hardly ever play completly clean, so for me it doesn't matter a whole lot.  I think I might try this.  If it works well for me I think I might box up a complete LM3886 amp as a combo.

**edit**
1.69 @ jameco, thats not too bad
