Guys I inherited the boards and PT from an old Peavey 300Watt amp  (combo with 15" spkr. , it was working)   It's marked 705-18720  Peavey electronics... Its HUGE and very heavy , and may be just the ticket for building a new SS amp .. if I knew something about it ...Any of you guys have any experience with one of these ... Thanks !!!

  Just a dumb question, but could anybody tell me how to improve/smooth the distortion tone (That knob) in my G100...  Sorry, I'm a tube amp builder, and have limited knowledge of SS, but am willing to learn...   Mentioning op amps made me think of distortion pedals,diode clipping,and how those can be adjusted/biased... Thinking the same might apply to my OLD Yam..which still sounds pretty sweet...? Used for Clean oldies venue, but when we tried the distortion , it was kinda' grainy ,ratty sounding, harsh really ...

  Every time I play this amp is just doesn't seem to have any "cut"...Speaker stock is a Celestion G12P-80 in the cab...Plugging the amp into different speakers  really makes a big difference in clarity...and improves the sound a lot...I know the speaker's broken in  having gigged a lot with it...Getting old dragging another spkr. cab to the gig, just have to replace the one in it... You guys have any experiences with this speaker and amp ? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated...Thanks !!!
