If I wanted to simplify it by excluding the gain and tone pots? I want to make a tiny version with  3" speaker

If you wanted to exclude the gain and tone pots you could populate the potentiometer holes on the PCB with resistors to "set" a value.

Thanks. Will try that. I spose I could do the same with the gain.
