Another new toy yay

It's guaranteed to work because there was a sticker on it that said "checks ok date 1968"

I didn't have much luck with it it did power on I ran a sin wave thru it to my scope and when I turned knobs and flipped switches all it did was flip back and forth from a flat line to a sin wave.  Turning the knobs affected the rate.

Then I ran it into an amp and just got Morse code.  :loco

Help is otw though....I couldn't find a manual for this exact manufacturer model but did find a manual for a similar model gen rad.

Also I ordered some BNC to BNC cables to make life a little easier.   :grr

There is not much info I could find out there about these devices apparently they were used to test stuff that now they do the same testing with stuff that made these boat anchors...idk.  xP

I just want to get some cool looking stuff on my scope.   8|

"all it did was flip back and forth from a flat line to a sin wave"
Flat line is no signal, sine wave is burst, so it's doing it's job.
It could make bursts of whatever kind of signal you run in to it, square wave, pink noise, etc.

Yes sir thanks

Probably beyond the scope of this conversation (on my end) but I was hoping for like a brontosaurus type burst

and I don't recall it ever being anything besides a uniform amplitude from beginning to end.

That would be amplitude modulation in addition to the burst.  I don't see anything like that in the controls.

I got home from work and played with it some more since I got some Kool BNC to bnc cables.

Btw here is how I know it's good to go

Anyhow man I twiddled knobs and controls for a while determined to get a trigger where it wasn't moving but failed  :grr

So I snapped a few pics hoping to capture something

Adjust the timebase control on the scope to widen out the burst.
