I own a 1989 Peavey VSS20. I bought it used a few months ago. It worked fine until yesterday when the signal just didn't come through. After 10 minutes or so it did with me not doing a thing to it. Today it didn't come through at all and I've got the front off so I can see the guys but I have no idea what might be wrong. Any insight would be very appreciated.
If it has an FX loop or preamp out/power amp input setup then bridge them with a working guitar cord. Try that before you mess around inside,,If that returns normal signal then the socket is faulty.
