Title: Randall CFH mod? (RG80/100)
Post by: sixgunner on March 26, 2010, 10:55:08 PM
Does anyone have any info on the CFH mod for the Randal 80/100?
I think it's supposed to eliminate a lot of the volume drop caused by pulling the treble knob out which introduces the diode clippers.
anyone?

Never heard, but I suppose you use a DPDT switch where you use one half to connect the diodes and the other half to add some resistor to a later stage as to compensate for the level loss.
Personally I'd leave it "fixed" and simply switch channels, as in any modern amp.
Of course, if anybody knows it, he's encouraged to post it. I'm curious too.
