Title: Rats in Peavey.
Post by: dan stanton on March 03, 2010, 09:31:16 PM
Hi all, Rats chewed up some wires in my series 400 bass head. The one with the distortion, contour, 6 band tone stack. 210 watts, 2 ohm out Anyone have experience working on these? I'd also like to clean the pots, any suggestions?

Hi Dan.
Start by asking Peavey (nice guys) for the schematic, which will certainly have the layout/wiring diagram attached.
I once saw in another Forum the question about whether amp makers put rat turds into the amps on purpose, being that he always found them ;D
To clean the pots, Deoxit is usually recommended, squirt some into them and wiggle the knob to clean the crud.
