Title: weird marshall volume problem???
Post by: bongo on September 28, 2009, 08:40:56 AM
hi all!

im new here and wondered if you could help me at all???

my first amp (that wasnt a 10W practise amp) was a marshall mg50-dfx, must of had it for about.....6/7 years maybe??? i gave it to my dad when i upgraded to various other things and its been a very reliable practise amp for him! now go back maybe 2 weeks i was showing him a riff from my band and all of a sudden the volume started to die and then come back slowly and then for the rest of the afternoon started to do this over and over again!!! i havent checked it yet so im wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be before i pull it to pieces to see what is wrong with it? any help would be greatly appreciated as i have no idea why it would do that!

thanks

ben

I had a similar issue with a Microstack MG15. The volume pot on the overdrive channel was poorly soldered.
