Title: Orang Crush 35LDX -- Lost It's Tone
Post by: kraml on March 18, 2018, 09:40:05 PM
I have a little Orange 35LDX. I only play it clean and at low volumes--Chet Atkins kind of stuff. I put it away for a few months. When I got it back out, I could tell that the tone was different. Kind of like a tube amp with old output tubes. No tone, dry, no sustain. I thought that it might be the strings on the guitar which were pretty dead. But that's not it. New strings. No real change. Guitar sounds fine in other amps. No odd hum or buzzes or anything like that. Just like the tone is being sucked out of it. The only effect I use is a little reverb, which used to sound heavenly. It's not so great any more either. Any ideas before I open it up? Thanks, k

Try with headphones.
Try with a patch cord between FX send & FX return.
