The easiest way to do it would be to order PCB kits from Brian for both the lm3886 and lm1875 (the lm1875 is a prototype, but he will normally give them out anyway), as far as the preamp goes you could do a couple things including: build your own preamp, line out from an existing guitar amp, or buy a preamp like this:

Yeah, an lm3886 (50w) for the lows because they take more juice and the lm1875 (20w) for the highs.  How much power did you need/want?

Well, good luck.

1. Line out from your amp
2. Build a preamp
3. Buy a preamp

I know it seems basic, but it is important to remember.  Just a power amp is not a guitar amp.  Not even close.  You need a preamp not only for tone, but also to boost the signal so you can get full potential out of the power amp.

Oh wow, didn't notice.  I know he's a real busy guy.  I'll see if I can catch him on aim and see whats going on.

**edit**
I talked to him and he's been super busy at work, plus he is out of a few PCBs, so he is just taking a break till everything calms down/things come in the mail.

Isn't that the same price as from partsexpress?  I'm too lazy to check right now.

I'm so damn impatient....I want it now!  Erg.

It's definetly going to be easiest to just do it via a kit from chipamp, but just because its easy doesn't mean its the best option.  Now thats not to say that chipamps aren't great, because they are...but they aren't the only way to do a SS power amp.

Definetly, I can't wait for this thing to show up at my door  <3)

Well, at least you have it worked out.

:-(  You didn't want to save any of the components?  I'm such a cheapass.

That sucks you couldn't get it working.

Amplifier Discussion / Re: 50 watt or so bass amp

I'm planning on doing that with 50w.  Right now I have 1x50, when I need more power, I'm going to give it another chip and have 2x50.  It's an easy and effective way of getting more power.

Looks like it would work great to drive a power amp for cheap.
