Title: Sunn 1200s
Post by: gbono on November 14, 2010, 06:56:30 PM
This is the Fender/Sunn solid state version not the tube design. Anyone work on one and is this a design with a switching PS? Also could use a schematic if someone has one.

Hi.
This is the power amp itself. (Class H)
Don't know about the PSU; *might* be a switching type.
A regular iron transformer would be murderous.

No, there is no switching power supply in this.  Fender has not hopped on the SMPS bandwagon today, let alone back in the late 1990s.  The giveaway woulpd be the large power transformer, large filter caps and large bridge rectifiers.
