Hi Folks (new Member here)
I just purchased a Lab Series L5 amp. I live in Australia and need to source a power transformer that is compatible with our 240v mains outlet.
THe lab series has been shipped from the u.s.
any pointers or suggestions will be much appreciated.
thanks.
Doesn't the existing power transformer have a dual primary? If so, it would be a matter of rewiring the primary, change the breaker to a fuse and rewire the fan outlet across one primary winding as it is a 120v fan.
Look on the schematic for the information.
Hey Thanks for the heads up Enzo.
I think i may take this baby to my tech. it's a little beyond me.
There are a few schematics floating around here too.
Hopefully i don't need to source a transformer.
I will let him know your advice. Thanks Man.
The L-series circuit shows a dual primary and alternative wiring for 120 and 220 volts (although that's gotta be either 110/220 or 120/240). In any case the series connection will be suitable for Aussie mains.
Thanks Guys! this has really helped me out.
Cheers.
