I agree with G1 sounds like a bad saturation pot , however increasing the impedance to 8 ohms does effect a few things , you basically cut the output power in half , the tone should be a bit better though . and it will also effect the life span of your output transformer.

if your using a light bulb limiter (I hope you are) the voltages will be lower than those on the schematic , from what I have read here check your PI tube or try a known good tube in that socket .

Any good Amp Shop can tell you exactly what it will cost to repair this amp , it is a very popular amp. Yes they will charge you a bench fee to diagnose the amp , if they don't , don't trust them to do the repair. Now back to the caps , if you can clearly see a bulge in a electrolytic cap it is bad , it needs to be replaced.

Here are the basic items you need to have on your test bench:
1. a simple screwdriver set
2. needle nose pliers
3. wire cutters
4. good lighting(probably should be #1)
5. Soldering Iron
6. DMM (the quality of this item is up to you)

these are the basic tools needed for a complete test bench you need a great deal more tools and money to buy them with , but this is all you need to get started.  :dbtu:

plug into the effects loop send out to a listen amp if you can hear it most of the preamp is working , plug into the effects return with a signal source on the other end and if you have normal output thru your speakers the preamp is your problem. If the preamp test ok then problem is your power amp , the Warhead is a 300 watt amp testing the power amp can be very time consuming.

I was  actually think that most power supplies for stomps are 9 volts , and that being the case it would be just a easier addition to my collection of stomps that way  :lmao:

Yeah I usually do too , but these where burnt , badly . I'm not sure what the guy that owns it was trying to do with it but I had to repair most of he output on this thing. After costing him $200 to repair it , I bet he thinks twice about jacking with it again  :lmao:

for those who may be interested , I found the part number need to order these , it is M-KITS-00003

Interesting , have you tried it at 9V yet?

does anyone here know Marshall's part # for the output modules in the AVT-150H , not the AVT50-62-00 # but the number they insist you have to order replacment modules.

since the volume goes down when you turn up the reverb level, check to see if the rca jacks are plug into the can correctly they may be reversed.
