Title: PV C50/50 - Preamp project dilema
Post by: txpvxxl on September 04, 2009, 12:39:42 AM
Hi crew,
Yup... New dude here to pick some brains, If I may.
I've started and dropped this little project a few times and figure I better get
the fool thing done or drop it for good.
What I've done,(Please see photo), is attempted to put this guitar rack, so to
speak, together and just having fits trying to figure out which way to go as far
as an preamp goes. The *ocktron *aniac preamp has a single out and the only
way I see it is to go into the left side mono of the PV c50/50. What bugs me or
has me tangled up is, The amp has 4 EL-84 tubes for each channel and a stereo
capability. I have to be honest with you for sure, I am genuinely novice here...
I really am not certain what the function of the preamp is or would be in this
rack unit involving the c50/50. How would I or better yet, Should I even be fooling
with a preamp in this mess I've got going?
Thanks for any help and suggestions!
I realize this is more a tube amp situation and I do want you to know... I am the
very proud owner of an PV XXL, PV Supreme, PV TT and an *arshall AVT50 :tu:

I think you could probably do it with a simple cable like a headphone doubler or somthing. Somthing like this http://prolight.co.uk/item/cabl62/?PHPSESSID=2a15a412897e20a8c289ee07b3f3c704 might work.

Hi txpvxxl.
I'm sure tne Pvy50/50 must have a mono input option, either plugging only on the left *or* the right input alone *or* some mono/stereo switch.
In the worst case, you can use an Y-cable.
Remember you'll have to load *both* speaker outputs with their corresponding speakers or cabinets.
Good luck.

PS: please avoid *initialazing trademarks, it gets sort of confusing.
