Title: Fender Frontman 15g..My first project.
Post by: Guitar Guy on March 17, 2009, 01:48:23 AM
Ok. So I found this amp in the garbage today. It had some structural damage to the baffle which I fixed temporarily..The real problem is as follows..The input jack is really testy..It either buzzes to high hell or it works fine, depending on what position you rig the cable..Also, the volume is stuck on one level..The volume knob doesnt work, neither does the gain knob..also the drive switch just mutes the sound. What can I do to get started here?

Hi GuitarGuy. Well, now you know why they jutted it into the garbage!! Start by googling its schematic. You have *mechanical* problems, rather than electronic ones, meaning bad jacks, pots and very probably cracked PCB tracks. Try to get new jacks and pots , replace them and then look carefully to check for PCB cracks, which usually appear where the PCB flexes most.
Post your findings here and good luck.
