Ok I went and redid the experiment this time using my scope to measure the voltage drop across the resistor at different frequencies and got some good results  :tu:

So all I need now is a gif of Keanu going
"DUDE.....your meter can't handle it "

Here is an 🥼🧪 experiment I just did

I was really impressed how the measured hung right in there with the calculated

Unfortunately at 50 khz it went out the window

Here is the "schematic"  :lmao:

I know

I should have remeasured everything with my scope.   :grr

Well....I wasn't gonna mention it but since you brought it up  :tu:

I was reading this the day before yesterday and of course I instantly remembered you talking about your car radio

Finally got around to trying this thing

I splurged a few bucks on a manual

I hooked it to a box fan

So it has life but I couldn't get any response from the single phase mode aside from a small reverse movement I did reverse polarity to try it to no avail

I don't see any fuses anywhere on the unit or in the manual nor a power cord  xP

I need to calculate approximate watts of a dollar store box fan  :grr

Thanks
I guess it would help if I looked it up and determined what actually happens circuit wise with a standby switch  :grr like it shorts out the flux capacitor  :tu:

I'm doing lots of the same stuff over and over with resistors capacitaters and inductors  :tu:

I've been impressed with this hobby that experimental results closely match calculations.

However I'm wondering if there is a limit to how accurately my multimeter can measure ac voltage ⚡ drops (rms) at different frequencies....like 20 khz

Oh well I guess that's why we have oscilloscopes (Vp-p)

Or bench multimeters ?  xP

I'm sure it would be cool 😎 to have a bench meter but I certainly don't need voltage to twenty decimal places or a real earth ground (thanks G1  :tu: )

Hey guys

What about shutdown at end of playing ?

Power off or standby for a while then power off  :loco

Thanks guys last night I gave it a work out.  When I changed pedals I put it on standby.
Then when I was done I put it on standby for a few minutes disconnected everything then shut it off.

Or...would you have just shut it off...idk if it has to go on standby to cool down before shut off or just turn it off.

Sorry for all the questions I realize it's not the mona Lisa  :grr  :loco  :lmao:

So then I'm doing a bunch of problems where the output voltage ⚡ is divided by the input voltage at different frequencies and do some more calculations with logarithms etc and it gives me the frequency response (?).....in decibels...?

I thought decibels was like dude how loud 🔊📢 is stuff.  Like a 70s Who concert or 707 taking off.

Oh well back to the grind  xP

I searched I promise  :tu: there is so much ➗ divisive content on the interwebz a guy could spend the rest of his life reading about it.

So the standby switch on my toob amp savage rohr 15 is a good thing  :tu: or...no it's killing toobs  :loco  :grr

I'm not 🚭 stressin out about it I'm 61 (eek  xP ) so the amp and toobs will probably outlive me  :grr
And I'm a strictly at home bedroom wanker no three sets a night at the pub  :duh

The only time I use or was using it was start up and shut down and in between changing pedals etc

Like I said it's not a big deal I'm just gonna do what you guys tell me to or not to do.   :dbtu:

Also it is toob rectified if it matters
Also if it matters I always have the preamp maxed out and the power section set at 0.000001  :P  ::)

Btw I used an atlas lcr45 on the ballast it measured about 755 mH

So on the label on the monster choke I guess hys means Henrys then it's 5 mH  :loco

I have very small 10 and 15 mH inductors so why is a 5 mH so big and heavy 🪨  :grr

Edit: because it can handle 22.5 amps and 1500 volts

I remembered I had a monster choke so I went and grabbed it and repeated the tests
:loco

The results were not what I expected it is such a beast I figured it would have crazy reactance a lower frequency
