I designed this several years ago while in college, not sure if it would work or not...but if it did it would give you 16w RMS / 32w PEAK on a 12-15v DC supply.

Hi joecool.
The left half is fine, the right one has input (+ /-) pins crossed.
It works on LM386, but not on others.
The preferred aplication, straight from the datasheet is:

If you DC balance both chips, you save two output electrolytics. ;)
I've built lots of these, they work very well.
Later I started using TDA2005 which is the same on a single chip.
The thing is LOUD on 4 ohm speakers, fed by a 12V 7A gel battery.
I make my own 10" guitar speakers just for that use.

I knew you could make drivers but i didn't think the art was refined enough for you to make something specialised... or even with an ounce of good sound quality?

The best sounding speakers are frequently made by an individual in their basement who is fanatic about building their own speakers/gear.

Hmm, come to think of it the only material i've read on the subject was just concerning a man wrapping wire around a spool and taping it to a paper plate... or something similar to that. Can you point me in the direction of some please?
