Fender stage 112se problems

Hi guys.  Any help is appreciated!

I have a Fender stage 112se that began giving me intermittent problems.  When I opened it up I found a burned resistor next to the induction coil.  I checked the solder joints of the coil and they were cracked.  I resoldered and replaced the resistor and resoldered the coil as well.  It worked fine for about 2 days and then the same problem.  I went back in and checked the solder joints and they looked good, but I reheated them and re did them anyway.  Then it worked fine again.  I left it on with a signal running in to it and after 20 minutes there was a pop and now there is a low hum and no signal can get through and the pots don't do anything to it.

I turned it on after rechecking things and in less than a minute the transformer started smelling funny(not funny ha ha, funny uh oh)  I am guessing something else is shorting, but I can find nothing.  All the solder joints seem fine.  The grounds seem to be in place.  I don't know what to look for.

Thanks again for any help.

Hi Chaosface.
Sad story.
From what you post, I guess originally your amp was oscillating (maybe you hooked the speaker with a screened guitar cable?), that´s why that particular resistor overheated and cracked. Soldering it did not help the original problem, now the output transistors died.
It´s an excellent but definitely complicated circuit, I think it´s somewhat beyond what you can repair with limited means available. Sorry.

FIXED AN AMP JUST LIKE THIS. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.THE RESISTOR NEXT TO THE COIL YOU TALKED ABOUT BURNED OUT.THERE IS A REASON FOR THIS. IF YOU JUST REPLACE THE RESISTOR IT WILL BURN OUT AGAIN. CHECK FOR COLD SOLDER ON THE COIL. IF THE COIL DOESN'T TAKE SOME OF THE JUICE DUE TO COLD SOLDER JOINTS GUESS WHAT HAPPENS. THE RESISTOR GETS ZAPPED WITH IT ALL AND GETS BURNT FAST.......ED!!!
