Hey, Okay so, My main amp is a Marshall DSL50 head,

But I have a Peavey Bandit 112 'Transtube' which I often use while practising.

Now I'm new here so I've only had a quick read, but am I to understand that I can change stuff abfout this amp, for example to give it more gain?:\

Yes. But you can do this in nearly every amplifier. Gain where? In power amp, in preamp...? Judging by the schematic, the preamp has seven gain stages (5 discrete transistor and two opamp-based) and the power amp has two. You do understand that each one can be tweaked to provide more gain, thus you are asking an awfully vague question?

Do you understand how the T-dynamics circuit of the power amp works, how about the "transtube" discrete Darlington stages? If you do, then all you need is a schematic or enough patience to reverse engineer one. If you don't - leave the amp alone.

Quick way to get more gain is to use a booster pedal.

Don't know if it's the case here, but sometimes a request for more gain is a request for more or different sounding distortion.
