Losing bass over time? Caps? Are my ears going bad?

I can't be completely sure but I think my amp has lost a lot of it's low end frequency response since I first got it.  That was about 12 years ago.  Great, now I feel old.  Are there any usual suspects that cause this?  My 1st guess would be caps in the power section but I'm not sure.  I just swear that it had a fatter bottom end than it does now.  It's a VH140 head BTW.  Thanks!

Not bad, simply they are not precision instruments.
Besides, there's the "relativity" of sound.
If you were used to other amps 12 Years ago, these must have sounded impressive to you; now you are used to them.
If it were a tubed amp  I'd suspect (with very high certainty) tired tubes, but being SS .... no.
Anyway checking that everything is working as new won't hurt it.
Good luck.

Not an expert on hearing loss but it's usually loss in the upper frequency range for normal aging - if you shoot fire arms, work with explosives, etc all bets are off on the above.
