I'll start my first post by asking if anyone has done any tweaking of a Danelectro Nifty Fifty?

Mine just cannot stay clean at any volume. It is not "breakup" or "crunch" it's more like the not-so-coveted broken speaker tone. I'm about to embark on building a Noisy Cricket and I'm planning on putting it in the Nifty Fifty, but I thought I'd try one last shot at improving the amp itself.
