Hi everyone,

This is my first post after absorbing as much as I can.  I could use some advice and direction for my first project.

I'm putting together a SS amp project to share with my young nephew and was finding myself torn between some options.  We're building a couple of practice amps so I can teach him a bit about electronics and we can play together without driving the family and neighbors crazy - so that means low wattage but with a bit of gain/drive.   :)  My nephew has an inclination to also play bass so an amp circuit that can handle that would be nice.  I'd like to make my amp stereo to play well with the BOSS GT-10 board.

Options I've considered include:

o the 1watt RunOffGroove Ruby circuit (could you share the same vol/gain potentiometers with two LM386 chips or would there be some "cross-talk" between the chip inputs?) <EDIT> Or, duh!  I could just use ganged pots.  </EDIT>

o the 6watt Stereo Amplifier cobbled together (but untested) by Paul Nelson using the TPA1517NE.

o the Elliot Products 20w amp project at http://sound.westhost.com/project72.htm (although that's getting a bit too powerful and not designed for overdriving the amp.)

<EDIT>
Also:

o the Tiny Giant Amp - http://musicpcb.com/pcbs/tiny-giant-amp/

o and this untested 2x11W stereo amp submitted years ago and never commented on:

</EDIT>
What other choices are out there without getting too hot on the wattage?

I have competence with reading schematics, PCB printing, and part specifying but not quite the knowledge to design something from scratch.

(Oh, and it looks like I'm going to spend some time reading Teemu Kyttala new eBook.)

Thanks for any thoughts you may offer.

Michael
