Title: Old and (I know) Cheap Crate CR-110 help
Post by: SwamperGene on November 19, 2008, 10:53:31 PM
Hi everyone! Nice looking site here  :tu:

I've just been getting back to playing around with guitars again after a 15 year hiatus. Been practicing with the same old CR-110 from back then, a nice little house amp but starting last week it went sour....both the "high" and "low" inputs are acting like the low input, I have to turn it up to 4 or so before I get any real volume when plugged into the high side as I normally would, and at that it's real muddy. It lost it's bite which was kinda decent for a cheap old thing. The OD switch/circuit still work fine but again the brilliance is gone.

I've had the board out and found that there's a contact on the low jack's tip that switches impedance but that tests fine. Nothing appears to be shorted or open anywhere. Any thoughts? I'm not afraid of electronics so if anyone's got any ideas or a 110 schematic lay it on me.

Thanks!
