Title: Amp Power Rating
Post by: Carl on April 23, 2008, 09:31:30 PM
I want to build a battery powered amp comparable to a Roland KC 60. It is rated 40 watts and the maximum power on the rating plate is 45 watts. There is no additional information on the Roland site. Is there any way to find out what the RMS power is?

RMS is normally about 1/2 of the peak rating, so 20w.  This doesn't work on all amps, but it's a good rule of thumb.
