jack1962,  i've been lurkin here awhile,  what are some of your favorite ss amps?

i would try marshall valvestate, maybe a pre gibson trace elliot tramp, or a crate(they're not all bad) g120 or 130 xl series head.

i have a lead 100 head that's a model 2098 i recently picked up pretty cheap.  it sounds like a bassman to me sort of....
decent clean and if you turn the channel volume all the way up and the master down it actually sounds like a marshall.....
but then i'm weird!  no it's not the greatest amp i've heard but it's decent considering what it is.

roland jazz chorus 50
marshall 2098
wiggy head and cab
crate g120xlc head
anyway, playing my roland jazz chorus 50 and it gets this whooshing noise, i looked up on the internet and it seems these amps do this alot?  is there a fix?  most said it was solid state wearing out? :loco  any ideas?  like the amp but if it's not fixable it's going soon!  lol
