That'd be perfect!  He really wants to test it in a bunch of different configurations.  IE, different transformers, different inputs (no preamp, preamp with guitar, cd player etc).  I've already tested my 2 channel lm1875 on my computer, and with guitar using my K-20X to lineout.  It sounds sweet with guitar.

K, well, its not like I wasn't going to give you the kit anyway lol.  What I'll do is after I get the stuff in the mail I will post about what I got, then when you decide what you want I will ship it and have you reinburse me on the shipping.

I thought you'd want a lm1875 kit  ;D  They sound great btw.  Is that tranny a toroidal?

**edit**
Wait, it couldn't a toroidal because you said it was center tapped.  Brian was hoping someone might build one with a toroidal.  I built one with a center tapped tranny and it clicks/pops when I shut off the amp, we think it has to do with the cheapo tranny I pulled from an old CB to use.

Brian is setting me up with a couple lm1875 kits and maybe a lm4780 kit.  They should be in by the beginning of next week.  Who is interested?

I don't know exactly what I'll be getting, so I can't garantee anything till it comes in the mail, but its kinda first come first serve.  I'll just have you pay shipping.  Oh, and Brian wants whoever gets the kits to build them and take a bunch of photos.

I used an old CB base station case for my lm3886 amp.  It worked out alright.  I think my next one will go into a rack unit.

Isaac Raymond uses a Sunn Bass amp when playing with Cenedal.

I don't know.  I don't know a whole lot about dean markley amps except for the K-20X I have lol.

I saw one on ebay a while ago for $20, and I love my K-20X, anyone know anything about the PAs they put out?  This one was a spectra 400a or something.

Wow, thats a lot of good advice.  I think it would be nice to summarize some of that and throw it in the wiki.

Wow...96va, that is so small.  I used a 250va for a single lm3886 lol.  But I used it so I could add another channel later.  I wouldn't go smaller than 125va per chip, and 160va is the closest you get to that.

Must have been cool to watch, even though sad and frustrating at the same time.

I don't see it being a huge deal with the obscelsance thing, just because everything becomes obsolete.  When you build computers, 10 years from now, good luck finding parts to fix it to original quality.  With an amp you could just build a new power section, the thing is with chipamps, 99% of the tone is from the preamp, not the poweramp.

Nelson posted this over at diystompboxes and said I could post it here.  The layout is unverified, but oh so cool.

You didn't use an insulated version?  Or is it that they don't have an insulated version of that chip?  Sorry for your loss btw.  Hopefully its just the chip and you can solder in a new one on be on your merry way.
