Title: Reverse polarity protection
Post by: flester on February 07, 2019, 05:08:25 AM
I neglected to add reverse protection to my LM386 amp and broke. It is basically the Little Gem/Smokey amp.

It powers on but no output. I am checking all the caps and the IC.
Anything else I should check?
What type of diode should I (have) use(ed) for reverse polarity?

Quoting from Youtuber ElectroBoom, you need a FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER!......no, a single puny diode (1n4007) would be ok.
