I stumbled across this new little hybrid today... $150

Not yet, but guess there's not much mystery  involved, 90% of Tiny Terrors are used by bedroom rockers and at those levels distortion comes from the preamp only.
In that case, powering the speaker through a couple EL84 or a 20W SS amp sounds not that different.
So I guess they simplified the preamp somewhat, using the 12AX7 only for distortion.

It runs off of a 15V 2A regulated wall wart. Weight of the amp is 0.85kg. 20W seems like a little bit of a stretch...

I could see 20w as a peak output, it probably puts out about 10w RMS.
