I'm running it at 12 v. The preamp and the power amp work fine when tested seperately.

I have built amp with a starved plate 12au7 preamp feeding a solid-state power amp module. There's a 100k audio pot controlling the signal going to the power amp. Whats the best way to pad the input to the power amp? A resistor in series somewhere?

I really need to get a better iron/station. Any recommendations around €100/$120 or so?
The cheapo is useful but it seems shame to bin it after a day. You get what you pay for, right? I think I've found a source for suitable tips now but I'll also try the workarounds mentioned below.

Could you add Ireland for shipping please. I'd vote for no speaker.

I got a cheap 30W soldering iron as a stopgap.

Unfortunately, the tip lasted approx 30 minutes of use. The tip is 75mm long, approx 3.5mm diameter and held in place by two grub screws. Does anyone know of a better quality tip that would fit?

I too have been making small fun amps from tins. A cookie tin is a far cry from a wooden guitar cab and give interesting results! The latest one actually has its own natural reverb effect which I imagine is due to the resonance of the thin sheet metal. Sounds nice with harmonica.

its a bit like '0-60 mph in 4 seconds'. But either way, even let's say 100W from a little brick would make this very useful. A few pedals in front and Robert is the sibling of your parent,

Should I have tuned the guitar? Of course
