sorry to ask two more questions to the SSGUITAR GODS

2.. do I need to put a little heat sink on that part we just installed.

The Newcomer's Forum / noob trying to solder
April 21, 2023, 11:30:49 AM
I have some older solder (among various types and ages)

seems like it would be awesome due to the diameter

but maybe it is so old the rosin stuff inside has degraded?

the reason I ask is everytime I try to use it I get awful crumbly crap. it will every so often behave and melt nicely but then mess up again.

I thought maybe it was just the end of it exposed to air amd moisture maybe it would get better but it hasnt.

hate to toss it but I cant get it to work.  I have other stuff that works good.

sorry had to add a few thoughts about the tapes

the home copied tape labeled "Ratt" has a version of walkin the dog that really rocks \m/

the MSG tape is killer...really a shame he/they were not more successful in the states

Aerosmith Night in the Ruts....totally rockin...a couple songs have a real Led Zep Presence vibe big time

Foreigner double vision...got CRANKED BIG TIME...some killer songs....man what memories... :'(

VH Fair Warning....what can you say....does it get any better?

Priest Defenders....wasnt really entranced by it....there are a couple songs that TOTALLY SHRED wow I presume its Glenn putting on a clinic  8) some of the parts my jaw hit the floor  :)
