Quote from: g1 on June 04, 2025, 11:00:51 AMNo, my mistake.  I meant from TR4 to TR5 as you suspected.
You can measure at the pad if transistor is removed.  Also you can measure at R29 and R30 where it has been installed in that other photo.

I am getting 1.3v between TR4, TR5 base pins with no R74 or R73 resistors installed

Google says 19 gauge or better. I usually just hack the end off an IEC cable since I have them laying all over the warehouse. 1.8 amps isn't a ton of current, so most any power cable within reason should be able to handle it.

I have a intermittent Channel on my Kay model 761 combo amp with germanium transistors. I'd like to find a schematic to fix it because it's a great sounding amp

Looking to replace the original 2 prong power cord with a 3 prong ground plug.
The metal plate on the back of the head reads....Output= 100w RMS...Primary= 120V...
FRE= 60 Hz...Input 1.8 Amps.
Where can I find a power cord thats compatible with the above information?
Thanks.

It looks very well made and those have many uses.

Check them with a multimeter.

Also measure activation coil DCR

Relays are interesting little devices.

They can switch a lot of power, up to 1500W here.

Browse online "old Electronics Books" libraries, I remember seeing 1 or 2 books dedicated to relay tricks and circuits, some very clever.

A new ridiculously heavy toy here

Btw I'm aware that a lot of caution still needs to be exercised here.  It's now like "oh look an isolation transformer I can do any stupid thing I want and it will be ok"  :loco

I'm guessing that if one were to grab each end of the secondary it would not end well.   :grr

Also there is a third prong that looks to be continuous  xP

Honestly this will be probably gathering dust for a while.

As a rule ATM pretty much what I do think and have learned is at least have some type of transformer like a step down between me and mains  :tu:

If you remember my Voltron Wattmeter I guess it was nothing more than a transformer with a meter.

Btw more caution while looking at various devices on eBay it seems there are autotransformers that aren't round and look like "normal" rectangular transformers.

 :'(

But anyway wow I love how this has some nice cords on each end so I don't have complete chaos with a thousand wires going everywhere  :grr
