Title: kasino powered cabinet
Post by: jimpat on April 20, 2008, 06:57:00 PM
I recently came to own a kasino 400 powered cabinet w/8-10'' speakers.
I am wondering what capabilities this monster has and if there is any info i.e. scematics
available.Any help is appreciated.

Like Krossroad and Klassik, Kasino was a daughter brand of Kustom. As that stuff is solid-state you likely won't find much of information from the Internet.
Here's one reference: http://www.broadwaymusicco.com/kustom11.htm.
And here's another: http://www.vintagekustom.com/literature/kasino.html.
The main sites of vintagekustom.com and broadwaymusicco.com are worthwhile of checking out as well. If you can find schematics of some similar vintage Kustom amps they may offer some clues about the circuitry of yours. But as I already mentioned, this stuff is extremely rare and hard to find. If you find something, please let me know. I'm generally interested in these historic SS amps.

...Anyway, I'm pretty sure the cabinet you have is one of their self-powered PA "colums". Those were pretty typical stage arsenal at the time. The old brochures show that they sold a set of those accompanied with a mixer.

I know you'll hate me for this, but I did see some Kasino Amp schematic/service manual reprints on Ebay recently. I say I know you'll hate me because I myself find Ebay search engine to be insane-logic(not fuzzy-logic) driven. If I see the actual site I'll send it to you. Crystal Tech.
