The Newcomer's Forum / Hartke B90 no sound
July 16, 2012, 09:55:44 PM
Ok this guy had this sitting around and needed it gone. I purchased it from him. It is a combo amp the speaker is good. When powered on I hear one bump from the speaker, plucking strings it doesn't say a word. I plugged in headphones plucking the E or A string I can hear very faintly that there is something there. I can't find a schematic on the net. I really need help. I am doing this as a confidence builder. What does the faint output from the headphones imply, if anything? I have the head out of the cab and a visual turned up nothing. Where should I start with this?

The Newcomer's Forum / amp class?
July 11, 2012, 04:24:15 PM
Could someone help me to understand the different classes of amps? The new class d amps are small , and light. Why? What are the advantages, and disadvantages of the different classes as applied to instrument amplifiers? Also if Fahey sees this post, whatever happened with the possibility of selling the ( if I understood the thread correctly) semi kits for your amps? I think the idea of selling the kits a la carte was a very good idea. I would purchase one. The U.S. needs your product.

The Newcomer's Forum / Building a bass amp?
June 12, 2012, 11:11:05 AM
Hello everyone. I am new to this fourm. I have a question that I haven't seen answered using the search function, although i'm certain it has been asked. I am probably not searching correctly. I want to build a bass amplifier and separate cabinet. I would like to go with 350- 500 watts. If this is dumb i'll just step back off this. The safe bet is SS, I don't want to try tubes, well , because I enjoy life, and i dont own a O'scope. First are their kits available for something like this, that you are aware of? I'm not too worried about the cabinet, l'll most likely go with one of the fearful designs if you are familiar with those.
