You could use a crossover network.

Amplifier Discussion / Rats in Peavey.

Hi all, Rats chewed up some wires in my series 400 bass head. The one with the distortion, contour, 6 band tone stack. 210 watts, 2 ohm out Anyone have experience working on these? I'd also like to clean the pots, any suggestions?

The Celestion would be good. If you can get 12+12 out of that transformer, should give you 15V. Also look at the tl082 datasheet. There's a good tone control you could replace the tl081.

I don't know how to post links. Look up epemag.com. They've got a good practice amp there.

Amplifier Discussion / Transformer output
February 19, 2010, 04:46:17 PM
Hi all. I'm trying to find the formula for the rectified output of the secondary. Haven't been in electronics for 35 years. So, a 12V secondary gives me 15V? Power supply. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I am reading Teemuk's book.

Thanks again for the response. I really appreciate it. And I'll do nothing unprofessional :tu:
I'll check out the tl072. I was thinking about a '50 myself. The speakers are 50 yrs old, and still crank!

Thanks JM! I'll be using 12" Jensen(s). See anything on the preamp stage to take out/add for better bass? I have to redraw the board to move the 2030 to a side heat sink. Might want to put that website so others can see it. Let us know how yours goes.
