Hang on you only posted that today!  Have a bit of patience, and complain when you've waited a week say.
Give people a chance not everyone looks here every day especially over Christmas!

Sounds :) like you've blown the power IC a TDA2050. Youll probably have to replace it. Could have been caused by plugging/unplugging the headphones? - Switching transient? TDA2050s are a bit fragile in my experience, I've blown a few!

1 nf surely.  10 + 2 0s = 1000 or 1000pf

If this is the valve (tube) version of the Rocker, then you could have a microphonic valve.  Its usually the first one but not necessarily so.  If you tap them in turn with an insulated item eg a pen or drumstick as suggested above, then you should find it.
Note there are high voltages present :( be careful!

Have you checked with Vox themselves. I recently got a circuit from them for a recently made amplifier.
If you quote the model and serial number to them they should help. Either phone their Technical Support Dept or use the on line email support form here < http://www.voxamps.com/contact/ >

Here's a couple of pics of the insides.  All PCB as you can see.
The Delay chip is a Mitsubishi M65831AP.  The delay is not not variable just depth.
I don't know where I'd get the schematic, I emailed the manufacturer in China but I'm not holding my breath!

Does anyone know anything about these amplifiers.  Made in China.
Just won one on eBay for £5 would you believe. A 20watt "Practice" amplifier with digital reverb.
Reverb not very good. A bit like extended echo if you know what I mean.
Seems to work alright uses a TDA2030A in the output, into a 4 ohm speaker rated at 30 watts.
Sounds OK except for the reverb.

I'm in a dilemma now.  Do I rebuild this as is with its inherent thermal problem, or do I add thermal compensation and a proper Heatsink?  This would make it more reliable but wouldn't be original any more.

BTW the Power supply gives out 63 volts unloaded

Managed to trace out the power amp circuit - attached.  Note no thermal compensation. :'(  Circuit common arrangement for the time.  Must have been thousands built of similar design used in disco amps etc.  I've repaired a few.

Also photographed the front and rear of the power stage PCB. Repairs appear to be consistent with overheating failures Probably more than once - tracks lifted etc.

Found final examination sticker on Preamp board - March 1984.

Will trace out Preamp next.

Just dismantled it and trimmed back panel with Jigsaw.  Removed the power amp from the bottom of the cabinet - oh dear what a mess underneath. Looks like a few repairs have been done.  Power transistors mounted on a 2mm Aluminium bracket to the STEEL chassis. Not a lot of heat transfer there. Looks like I may have to make a new PCB and I will then fit a proper heatsink. Not surprising there have been so many repairs, I expect the original output transistors were 2N3055s not the 2N3773s in now.

This is the one.

Amplifier Discussion / Custom Sound Trucker Bass Amp
August 19, 2011, 11:05:24 AM
I've just won one of these on eBay and was wondering if anyone knew anything about them.  I understand that Custom Sound (in Pudsey in Yorkshire) was taken over by FAL (Futuristic Aids Ltd) but nothing else.
It is SS with 2 2N3773s in the output and is supposed to be 65watts.  It has a 15" speaker which is like new, but has no markings on it. It has had the back stove in but sounds OK.  No idea when it was made.

Does anyone know anything about these and where I can get a circuit for it, although it probably wouldn't be too difficult to trace it out.

Tony.

You cant check a circuit like this using a multimeter in this way.  The circuit components will give you false indications. Especially if they are active.  Unless you are checking the board with no components on.

I think thats going to need more than a few diodes :) :)

I would try the 2N3054 which should be still available.   The 7155 looks like a date code to me.  Future shows these available at $9.75 each here < http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/technologies/semiconductors/discretes/transistors/general-purpose-transistors/Pages/1397744-2N3054.aspx >
