I know nothing of guitar amps. I have a 40Watt Solid State guitar amp. It's pretty old, it doesnt even have a brand name so I dont have much info on it. It has an 8" speaker and I would like to replace it because all the time I take the Vol. to 8 it sounds loud but starts distorting. I found a fender 12" 75W 8ohm speaker, which I dont know what an ohm is, and a 10" 50 Watt which says 4/8/16/32 ohm impedance. Will any of these work? and if they do will it make the amp louder? I can't find out the ohm on my amp. Your help is greatly appreciated.
