Alright well I gave both of these new pedals a work out
The big muff I liked it a lot playing a lot of old Sabbath but a big surprise came that it sounded great to me trying to dial in smoke on the water both rhythm and lead  :dbtu: so definite win for that one

The mxr classic distortion was kinda predictable after yesterday's 5150 fest but it held its own banging out healthy (or unhealthy  :loco ) doses of blizzard tunes  <3)

However the biggest surprise of the day came when I kinda mellowed out and started playing under the bridge

I found or (got lucky  :lmao:) a sweet spot on either the amp or pedal (or both)and with my guitar on middle pickup single coil I was in heaven  <3)

Crazy man I almost never use that single coil and it was the bomb with that pedal  :tu:

It is great when an amplifier or an effect brings out your guitar.

Hey thanks nice to hear from you  :dbtu:

I can tell you man I freakin HATED  :grr this amp because it wouldnt really get dirty despite having a bright channel.

Now I love it looking back I guess I was being a little ( :lmao: ) unrealistic in expectations.  I was wondering last night if there is such a term "pedal friendly" amp.

Also as much as I trust you guys (I would let you remove my gall bladder  :lmao: ) I know you guys definitely know your stuff  <3) .....I'm really glad I didn't mess with this amp it's nice.  I had it on CL forever with only one inquiry.  I'm glad I kept it.

One thing I did notice about it maybe axial capacitors were getting hard to find even in the 90s or whenever this thing was made because I noticed they have radial capacitors doing splits like Olga Korbut  xP

It has a "preamp out"

Can I run this preamp out into another amp  :loco

Say, have you tried plugging the preamp out into the input of your Savage Rohr?
Good night, Frau Blücher.

Yes sir thanks I did and I had a couple of problems like terribly scratchy pots on the little Peavey and intermittent gain and volume  :grr
Nonetheless it was somewhat anticlimactic  :grr and exacerbated by the fact I couldn't get the Peavey to shut up while trying to listen to the savage.  Idk maybe I should have disconnected the speaker.
But it wasn't a life-changing event  :lmao:

It's cool I appreciate the help I'm gonna write a book "Pedals: the necessary evil"
After it becomes a best seller I can sell the rights and it can become a movie.  8|

Pretty crazy I had begun playing the little Peavey rage regularly trying to get the cobwebs out of it it had never acted up before but now it was horrible cutting out and staying quiet I would gently push and pull turning knobs and get it to make sound again.
Sometimes it would stay off for a while  :grr like no sound whatsoever.
I got to thinking maybe it's the same as my audition chorus that you guys fixed maybe I need to put a voltage regulator in it.

Anyhow I was wondering if it was the voltage regulator would I be able to get sound by touching controls etc.
Then for some reason with guitar in hand....I sat up and not really a true ENZO WHACK but a firm downward slap and well the sound came back it stayed consistent not varying  :dbtu: throughout a Beneath the remains and Arise medley  :trouble  :dbtu:

This Peavey looks like it could use some TLC. So, maybe a new thread on restoring its former glory, Saturated? What say you?
Good night, Frau Blücher.

The phones jack disconnects the speaker, so a dirty or oxidized phones jack can cause the problem you described.
