Oh sh*t !!!!!!!

A small part of the brain was somehow expecting this, the rest and all of the heart were not.
Oh well.

Best wishes to all related, including Family, close and faraway friends and of course, electronic friends made around here (that would be ourselves) .
Oh well [2]   :(  :-[  :-\  :'(

I had been thinking about Roly the last week or so wondering how he was doing.  :-\ Sorry to hear of his passing and my heart goes out to all his family, friends and tech buddies who will miss him sorely.  :'(

You know I wonder how many folks ever bother to count there life in days instead of years?
It puts TIME into a different perspective and you can clearly see that life is rather limited.
Roly was likely around 66~67 years old which works out to ~ 24,500 Days on the planet.
Well no one can say he wasted time, He certainly crammed a lot into 20,000 days. :dbtu:

No matter how you look at it it still hurts to think he achieved so much and his life was then cut short. A rare and wonderful soul.
Phil.

I don't post here much but I read & lurk quite often. I'm stunned and saddened by the loss of such a great person as well as a great mind. My only consolation is that his great wit and thoughtful nature will always be here as a memorial to him. My prayers and very best wishes go out to his family.

I have thought, more than once after reading stuff Roly had written on this board, that it would have been really great to know him or someone like him when I was still playing in bands in my younger years. If that man was half as accomodating to others and willing to share his knowledge in person as he was online, he would enrichen any music scene.

As others have said, condolences to those who knew him and may their memories of him be long-lasting.

In a way it's comforting to see that people's works or creations survive the creator: just this morning I saw at another Forum (MEF?) somebody was trying to modify his old PA amp following a Roly Roper signed schematic  :o

I almost spit my coffee seeing that  :(

When somebody gives as much as Roly did it is proof to life that he really is still here among us in spirit form. I saw that post on MEF with the LTspice circuit and assumed at first that the author of the post had made it up. Just went back today and yup right there at the bottom is Roly Roper. I think I remember reading that schematic some time ago either on SSguitar or on the OZValveamps website. Now I know why it looked so familiar.
