Title: Low volume on a combo amp?
Post by: gmgmgmgm on February 02, 2014, 11:32:37 AM
Hi guys,

I currently have an Ibanez TB50R combo amp that decided to start putting out a veeerry low volume.  The knobs all seem to work, yet the speaker won't go above a whisper.  I don't see any burnt components or popped caps, and unfortunately I can't find any schematics online.

So I guess...does anyone have experience with this type of response to where they'd know beyond a guess which component went?  Thank you.

Have you tried other guitar cables, yours might be dud?
They often die without warning. :grr

If the Amp has effects send/return sockets or preamp out/power amp input setup then try a known to work guitar cable in that loop.

Next common point of failure is input socket, try jiggling the plug in and out. Might also need a spray of electro cleaner as well.
