Title: I want to build a 30-watt combo guitar amp, 12 inch speaker, 8 ohms
Post by: strat1946 on December 28, 2008, 07:18:27 PM
My name is Robert, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  I love the sound of clean blues, and dream of building a simple amplifier.

I am here to learn, as I know almost nothing about it.

Thanks a million!

Hi Robert. I think that if you build an LMxx amp. straight from the application note or getting some kit , you´ll get a *very* clean amp.
Later build some preamp to be able to control it , and step by step you´ll end having a nice amp.
Bye.

Do lots of reading first.  Amplifier building is a fun and rewarding hobby, but it can be dangerous dealing with mains power.

I'd start by reading this:  http://www.ssguitar.com/index.php?topic=60.0
