I have a Fender Power Chorus which has developed an extremely loud squeal. It starts about five minutes after the amp is turned on. It doesn't matter if anything is plugged in or not, or if the volume is turned all the way down.
Any suggestions of what it could be or how to fix it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Pat
Ball up your fist and whack the top hard. Does the squeal react?
Plug the guitar into the Power Amp In jack, turn guitar to zero. Noise stop or continue?
Thanks Enzo, I'm on the road till mid January. I'll give your idea a try. I hope it works. What do you suspect is it's problem?
I have no idea. We just need to isolate the problem. The two simple tests help do that. Whacking it helps reveal a loose connection inside somewhere. Plugging into the power amp in bypasses the preamp, so it tells us if the issue is in the power amp por not.
