Title: Altec Lansingg 601Cs need an amp
Post by: handyman on January 09, 2008, 01:11:29 AM
Hello- I'm new to this forum, and I'm hoping for some advice . I'm a capable musician, and a competent builder, but I don't know anything about amplifier components. I would like to build an amplifier (solid state) around two 12" Altec Lansing 601 C loudspeakers. These are 20 watt speakers (30 watts peak, with 8 ohm impedance. I've built a nice cabinet for them, but I need to add the electronics. Any advice on where to go for a kit to complete the project?
Thanks
Handyman

Sounds like a stereo LM1875 kit from brian at chipamp.com would be right up your alley.  You'll have to shoot him an email to see if he has any kits available as they are no longer listed on the site.  He hooked me up a couple years ago, really nice guy.
