Check out the LM1875 thread, it'll be $14 for a stereo LM1875 setup.  So 2x25w RMS.  You could bridge them or parallel them for 50w.

Alright, I have  kits that will be complete in a couple weeks.  The pricing is $14, this includes the boards, chips, resistors and caps for a stereo LM1875 along with First Class shipping.  If you want priority shipping it will be $17.  The reason they are more expensive is because Brian didn't have everything so I had to order a good amount of parts from digikey which upped the price a bunch.

If you are interested, post here because its first come first serve.

Paypal payment to joseph.raymond@umit.maine.edu

If paypal is a problem for you, PM me to work something out with check or money order.

Here are some PDFs that will help you out:

http://cordova.asap.um.maine.edu/~raymondj/imagehost/lm1875.pdf

http://cordova.asap.um.maine.edu/~raymondj/imagehost/lm1875-manual.pdf

The manual is unfinished, but it has everything you will need to know.

Let me try to answer most of these.

The I used the feedback cap on my LM3886 because if I remember right it is just a good idea and helps keep you away from SPiKe protection kicking in.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.  Regardless I did it.

For the on/off switch you'll want a 110v or higher and 3 amp or higher

I think I used a 3amp 1.25" glass tube fuse but a 2amp would be plenty (2amps x 110v = 220w)

If you have more questions, its not a problem.  I asked the equivelent of a 400 page novel before I built mine lol.

What I do is push the wire through from the top, solder it on the bottom, then clip the end off to make it a nice small point.

btw, do we have some people ready for some build reports?  Questions?  How are those LM3886 kits coming guys?

Just so everyone knows, BrianGT is the Brian from chipamp.com and he is the one who has supplied me with the LM3886 kits and LM1875 kits.

A big thanks from all of us at SSGuitar!  Thanks Brian!

The LM1875 kits should be ready in a couple weeks.  I know I already said that a while ago, but I've been really busy.  I am placing the order with digikey right now for the parts I need.

Just wait probably.  Or get something from that other place...I can't remember the site, but there is another guy that sells basically the same kits, I just normally go through Brian.  If you want to email him, his email is bb@darg.net

Check out partsexpress.com for the transformer.  Type in toroidal in the search box.  For a LM3886 you'll want a 25+25 160va.  As far as heatsinks go, eBay is your friend.  Something like this would be perfect: http://cgi.ebay.com/Large-Aluminum-Heat-Sink-6-5-x-5-75-x-2-72_W0QQitemZ7629890173QQihZ017QQcategoryZ92078QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And for an enclosure, you can use practically anything you want.  Metal is better though.  I would suggest looking at rack mount chassis if you want an easy metal box to work with.  You will want something 3" or taller to make sure everything clears properly.

^^ I second that.

I do still have that transformer if anyone is interested.  But even though it would work ok for a LM3886 setup, it would be ideal for a LM1875.

You can use power off the other transistor, but its not really recommended, and its easier with a separate one.  A regular CT transformer should be fine.

Chip points are a way of showing how credible someone is.  If someone thinks their post is good, they can rate it good or bad.  Then later if they post something and they have a chip points rating of 100, someone will believe them, if they have a rating of -10, no one will believe them.

No worries.

As far as tonestack goes, its up to you.  I'm using a marshal preamp box on mine.  RDV built one but I keep forgetting what it was lol.
