Title: Ampeg 140c...
Post by: FRANKJC on June 03, 2014, 11:33:18 AM
Hi. My son just got an Ampeg 2-12 amp with chorus for free, I think it is a 140c. Nice amp, sounds pretty good. It seems to have been sitting for a long time. It's got some dirty pots, which I can take care of no problem. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that the reverb is not working. When i turn the reverb knob, the volume goes down, and there is no reverb. The reverb tank is plugged in. Not sure where to go from here.

Check continunity on the reverb pan transducers. I've heard that the wires between the jack and coil are prone to breakage.

since the volume goes down when you turn up the reverb level, check to see if the rca jacks are plug into the can correctly they may be reversed.
